About Me

In 1983 I graduated from the Crawford Municipal of Art with a certificate in Visual Education. From that, I went on to study for a national Diploma in Art, also from Crawford. In 1987, I graduated from NCAD (National College of Art and Design), with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art.

In 1987 I emigrated to Australia where I worked in a drama and folk group. From 1990 to 2000, I started to create small landscapes using oil paint. My art was featured and sold at BRICIN Restaurant in Killarney, and through this opportunity I went on to sell at the Killarney Art Gallery. My work has been featured in an array of art exhibitions around the country throughout the years; Crawford College, Guinness Hopp Stores in Dublin, Siamsa Tire Arts Centre and Kerry Airport among many more.

From Digital Art & Photography, to Teaching and Design, I am passionate about all areas.

Trad./Digital Art

Starting out with traditional oil paintings in 1990, I first began with painting smaller scale landscapes. I worked with traditional oil paint for a number of years, but in recent years, I have found a great admiration and an ever-growing enthusiasm and passion for Digital Art and Drawings, which I am mostly working with now.

Throughout the years, I found a passion for photography. As a hobby I hill-walk in some of the most beautiful places in the country, and love to carry my camera with me to capture the stunning landscapes and scenery that surround us in Ireland.

In 1999, I opened my Art Studio in Knocknagree, Co. Cork. From my studio, I taught Art classes for both adults and children. I have also taught in primary and secondary schools in Kerry and Cork, and am a member of the Teaching Council of Ireland. In 2014, I undertook a Masters in Creative in the Institute of Technology, Tralee and completed this is 2016.

Children's Art

I have been teaching art to children of all ages for a number of years. I have been traveling to local schools around Cork and Kerry for 10+ years and have thoroughly enjoyed my teaching experience. I also teach art to those with intellectual disabilities. Examples of these classes can be seen on the portfolio page.
